Municipal Court

Will Reopen on June 15, 2020

Temporary Court Hours: Monday-Friday
9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Closed: 12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m.

Ingleside Municipal Court will comply with the Emergency Orders issued by the Supreme Court of Texas and Court of Criminal Appeals, including conducting in-person proceedings according to the guidance issued by the Office of Court Administration regarding social distancing, maximum group size, and other restrictions and precautions.

We will conduct and schedule dockets in a manner consistent with social distancing guidelines. We will maintain occupancy in the courtroom and lobby area to five (5) including court staff.  If we are at full capacity, you will be asked to wait outside the Public Safety Building until room is available.

If you have been previously scheduled to appear, you will be receiving a notice by mail rescheduling your court appearance at a specific date and time.  If you are unable to appear at that date and time, please contact the court at (361)775-1188 to schedule a remote appearance or to reschedule the in-person appearance for a later date.

All individuals are encouraged to appear remotely or by mail in lieu of making a personal appearance.

We ask if you come in to make an appearance or to make a payment that you come in by yourself or if necessary, with only one (1) family member or friend.

Upon entering the Public Safety building, a staff member will meet you outside the front doors – you will be required to wear a face mask, if you do not have a mask of your own, a disposable face mask will be provided to you.  You will be given hand sanitizer to sanitize your hands and have your temperature taken.  You will be asked questions listed on the COVID-19 Active Screening Questionnaire.  If you have a temperature equal to or above 99.6°F or if you answer yes to any of the questions you will be refused admittance to the Public Safety Building. You will be asked to call the court to reschedule your in-person appearance or to schedule a remote appearance for a later date.

Individuals who are over age 65 and individuals with serious underlying health conditions, such as high blood pressure, chronic lung disease, diabetes, obesity, asthma, and those whose immune systems are compromised such as by chemotherapy for cancer or other conditions requiring such therapy are considered to be vulnerable populations*.

*We ask individuals who are in vulnerable populations to contact the court at (361)775-1188 and identify themselves as a vulnerable individual so we can make the appropriate accommodations to either reschedule appearance for a date after the pandemic has subsided or by conducting appearance remotely.

By practicing good hand washing and social distancing, we can work together to keep our community safe and healthy.

Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.

If you fail to meet any or all the obligations set forth by the court, the Judge will issue a warrant for your arrest which could result in your arrest by any peace officer. Your drivers license is also subject to a denial of renewal. If a warrant for your arrest has been issued, you should come to the court immediately. If you are unable to pay your warrant in full, a payment plan can be arranged with the court.
