The Ingleside Volunteer Fire Department proudly announces that Chief StevenLoving has been selected by the Texas State Firefighters’ & Fire Marshals’ Association as the award winner forFirefighter of the Year.  With over 1,200 departments and over 22,000 firefighters, this statewide association represents, career, volunteer, and industrial firefighters and EMS personnel.  Chief Loving was nominated at his department level for the various contributions to the community and the department throughout the year, including managing response operations through the Hurricane Harvey incident and recovery efforts.  His nomination was then forwarded to the South Central District Firefighters’ Association, a 9-county district, which is one of many zones throughout the state.  His nomination was then forwarded to a state level committee who reviewed each application and narrowed it down to several finalists before he was chosen as the Firefighter of the Year for 2017-2018.  Chief Loving will represent the State of Texas for the 2018 National Volunteer Firefighter Council Firefighter of the Year.

Chief Loving was recognized at a June 24, 2018 State Convention in Arlington at the Annual SFFMA Training Conference and Convention.
