When are the garbage collection days?
The garbage collection days are based on your residence. Allied Waste Services provides street-side or curbside collection service for residential refuse to each residential unit two times per week and the collection of bulky waste is one time per week. For residents living on the North side of Fourth Street, your scheduled days for garbage pickup are every Monday and Thursday. Collection days for residents living on the South side of Fourth Street are every Tuesday and Friday.
What time of the day will garbage be collected?
Trash cans/toters must be placed at the curbside by 7:00 a.m. on your collection day. Garbage may be picked up as late as 8:00 p.m. All residential refuse must be placed in the receptacles furnished by Allied Waste. Please make sure all trash is bagged. The City or Allied Waste is not responsible for cleaning up garbage on the street due to trash no being bagged.
When are bulky items collected?
Bulky items will be collected on every Friday. Please call City Hall at 361-776-2517 to inform us that you have items out for pick up.
What do you consider as bulky waste?
Bulky waste includes stoves, water tanks, washing machines, furniture and other items too large or too heavy to fit in the toter. Construction Debris, Dead Animals, Hazardous Waste or Stable Matter with weights or volumes greater than those allowed for the receptacles will NOT be picked up. Construction Debris includes waste building materials resulting from construction, remodeling, repair or demolition operations.
When is commercial and industrial collection scheduled?
Commercial and industrial unit collection routes will be established by Allied WasteI, and at the owners discretion additional collection is available for a nominal charge. Collection of commercial and industrial refuse shall take place according to individual agreement.
What holidays are observed by Allied Waste?
The following holidays are observed: Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day and New Year’s Day. Garbage will not be picked up on these holidays and will resume on your next scheduled pickup day.
Where do I place my trash receptacle/toter?
Each receptacle must be placed at the curbside for collection. Curbside refers to that portion of the right-of-way adjacent to the paved or traveled City Roadways. Receptacles must be placed as close to the roadway as practicable without interfering with or endangering the movement of vehicles or pedestrians. Allied Waste may decline to collect your garbage if your receptacle is not placed where deemed appropriate. Please place your trash can / toter so that the lid opening is facing the street.
What are the requirements for placing trash in the receptacle?
All refuse hauled by Allied Waste must be so contained, tied or enclosed that leaking, spilling or blowing are prevented.
Who do I call to complain about my garbage service?
All complaints shall be made directly to Allied Waste at 1-800-640-2014. This is a toll-free call for Ingleside residents calling Allied Waste. Should you not be satisfied with Allied Waste, please call the Utilities Business Office at 361-776-2517.
What are items that will not be picked up?
Tires, batteries, paint cans or any household hazardous waste will not be picked up. Hazardous Waste includes any chemical, compound, mixture, substance or article which is designated by the United States Environmental Protection Agency or appropriate agency of the State to be Ahazardous as that term is defined by or pursuant to Federal or State law.
How much garbage can the trash receptacle hold?
The receptacle only has a capacity of 90 gallons. It is constructed of plastic or fiberglass, designed to be lifted and emptied mechanically, and having a tight fitting lid capable of preventing entrance into the container by vectors.
How many extra bags of trash will Allied Waste pickup next to the trash receptacle?
Allied Waste will NOT pick up any extra bags of trash or boxes next to your trash receptacle.
Who do I contact if my trash receptacle/toter is stolen or broken and I need a new one?
Please call the Utilities Business Office at 361-776-2517. Allied Waste normally delivers new toters within 7 to 10 business days.
