The City of Ingleside is currently accepting applications for the position of Director of Infrastructure Services. This is a newly created position. It reports to the City Manager and at this time, has no supervisory responsibilities. This position will require the following knowledge, skills, and abilities. (1) Knowledge to perform all calculations for design, computer programs, utilizing specifications and setting standards. (2) Prepares plans and reviews engineering plans submitted by others for new development. (3) Works with others to accomplish the project management goal of surveying, designing, planning and specification preparation. (4) Supervises contractors, prepares payments and performs final inspection for project finalization. (5) Reviews plats in compliance with all City Codes and to Subdivisions Ordinance. Communicate with owners’ engineers and forward comments to them on engineering matters. (6) Attends the Planning Commission meetings and City Council meetings to provide explanation of engineering issues. The Director of Infrastructure Services should have the ability to professionally interact and build positive relationships with the community as well as business and industrial leaders and officials of other government agencies.
The position has the following requirements for the Director of Infrastructure Services. (1) Registered as a Professional Civil Engineer in the State of Texas. (2) Minimum five years of civil engineering experience, some of which with a municipality is desired. (3) Valid Texas Class “C” Driver’s License. (4) Must pass drug screen. The starting salary is open and will depend upon background and qualifications of the successful candidate. The city benefits package includes medical, dental, vision, and life insurance. The City participates in the Texas Municipal Retirement System. The City provides sick leave, vacation and holidays.
